The Bridge Modular Delivered - Expansion for SEND Education in Doncaster
Nexus Multi Academy Trust in partnership with Doncaster City Council is pleased to announce the successful delivery of The Bridge Modular Expansion Project, a purpose-built 2 classroom modular facility that marks a significant step forward in specialist education for SEND students in Doncaster.
The successful project has been delivered in collaboration with:
Nexus Central Projects Team: Kerry Veall, Strategic Projects Lead and Lynsey Smith, Enterprise Works and Project Manager
Rider Levett Bucknall: Junaid Mahmood, Building Surveyor and Project Lead
Premier Modular: Elgan Roberts, Northern Operations Manager
The Bridge has been developed as an expansion of North Ridge School and designed to nurture personal, social and emotional development while preparing students for their next steps in life. Whether progressing into further education, employment or independent living, students will benefit from an environment that supports their aspirations and showcases their strengths to the wider community.
By integrating work-based learning, core skills development and multi-agency support, The new modular aims to create meaningful opportunities for young people and foster stronger relationships between students, employers and the local community. Once complete, it will stand as a beacon of inclusive practice and a testament to what can be achieved through collaboration and shared vision.
Lisa Suter, Executive Regional Director Nexus Multi Academy Trust
‘The impact is twofold - firstly it secures the longevity of The Bridge (Post 16) provision and secondly it creates additional capacity for NRCS. The latter also aids the LA in allocating places to children and young people who would otherwise have progressed to a tribunal. I would just like to thank the team, including Nexus central, for their commitment to the project.’
