Catherine started in the NHS as a Student Nurse in 1979, retiring as Deputy Chief Nurse in 2022. Catherine has enjoyed a career serving children and families in a range of diverse roles. Among them she has worked as a Midwife, Health Visitor and Nurse Consultant Safeguarding Children in several areas but always with one aim - to care for and deliver a quality service that meets need. The objectives of Nexus MAT fits so well with that philosophy and it is therefore a pleasure to serve as a Trustee with the Trust

Previously the Head of Strategic Commissioning at RMBC’s Children's Services, Jo has led transformation in Children's Services in one of the most high profile Boroughs in the country. Prior to this role she worked in local authority and voluntary and community sector organisations at senior management & executive level for the past 20 years. Her career is one dedicated to improving public services for those most disadvantaged. Through the diversity in her career, she has developed specialisms including working with children and young people, driving innovation in public service design and leading organisational change.

I have worked in the voluntary community sector for over 12 years starting as a volunteer and through hard work, determination and passion successfully became the Centre Manager of SENSE (which supports people with physical and learning disabilities to lead full and active lives). I'm an active member of the community, an advocate for disability and women and spend my free time volunteering for a wide variety of community led projects.

I am very passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion and ensuring people have a voice and are heard. I sit on several strategic and advisory panels in the borough and work alongside the Council to support communities positively. I am family orientated and invested in arts, culture and developing more provision in the area.
