We are a forward thinking and innovative Trust with collaboration, enrichment and improvement enshrined within our day-to-day practice ensuring that learners and their families are always at the centre of what we do.
The vision for Nexus is that we are constantly “Learning together, to be the best we can be.” This vision is what we aspire to and is as relatable to every employee and partner of our Trust as it is to our children, young adults and their families.
Our Opportunity
Nexus Multi Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly skilled Specialist Teacher (EOTAS) to support children and young people accessing an Education Other Than At School (EOTAS) package.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly personalised and flexible model of education, supporting pupils whose needs cannot currently be met within a traditional school environment. Guided by the Trust’s commitment to inclusivity, innovation and compassion, you will play a key role in ensuring that children and young people receive a high-quality educational experience that enables them to thrive.
Working collaboratively with Specialist Education Outreach Practitioners, families and multi-agency professionals, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and reviewing a personalised educational programme that reflects each young person’s strengths, interests, aspirations and EHCP outcomes.
The role will involve:
- Designing and overseeing bespoke learning programmes tailored to the individual needs of children and young people.
- Providing professional guidance and support to Specialist Education Outreach Practitioners delivering elements of the educational programme.
- Planning, assessing and reviewing progress against EHCP outcomes and personalised learning targets.
- Developing strategies to support communication, independence, engagement and preparation for adulthood.
- Working closely with families, local authorities and external professionals to coordinate educational provision and secure the best possible outcomes.
- Monitoring the quality and impact of provision, adapting approaches in response to assessment, observation and professional review.
- Contributing to EHCP reviews, progress reporting, safeguarding processes and multi-agency planning.
Learning may take place within the home, community settings or other bespoke environments, requiring a flexible, creative and child-centred approach. You will be supported by the Trust's experienced EOTAS team and specialist services, with dedicated time provided for planning, assessment, collaboration and professional development.
About you:
You will be:
- A qualified teacher (QTS) with experience of SEND, specialist provision, alternative provision or outreach services.
- Skilled in designing personalised learning pathways for children and young people with complex needs.
- Confident in working collaboratively with families and multi-agency professionals.
- Highly organised, reflective and able to work independently while leading provision across a range of settings.
- Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people through innovative and inclusive practice.
- Committed to safeguarding, continuous professional development and the values of Nexus Multi Academy Trust.
What you can expect from us
Wellbeing – Pay – Careers and Training – Annual Leave and Flexibility
- The opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking, inclusive Multi Academy Trust with a strong reputation across South Yorkshire
- Access to CPD and professional development tailored to alternative provision and SEND
