About our School
Hallamshire Academy will be a brand-new independent special school for children and young people aged 7–19 with complex needs linked to Autism and SEMH. Opening in the beautiful and historic setting of Banner Cross Hall, with expansive grounds and inspiring spaces, our school is committed to offering a highly bespoke and personalised provision.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Learning Mentor to join our team and play a key role in shaping the development of the school.

Our Opportunity
About the role
As a Learning Mentor, you will:
Provide highly skilled support and interventions to remove barriers to learning, ensuring every young person can thrive.
Take a lead role in areas such as safeguarding, attendance and engagement, advising the Senior Leadership Team and contributing to whole-school systems.
Work in close partnership with families and multi-agency professionals, ensuring a strong, joined-up approach to supporting our students.
Lead on transition planning, from induction into the school through to students’ next destinations.
Line manage and support other staff, contributing to a positive, professional culture.
About you
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
Advanced safeguarding knowledge and experience of tasks delegated from a DSL.
A track record of improving attendance, engagement and outcomes for children and families.
The ability to plan and deliver interventions, and to work effectively with external agencies.
Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage staff and systems.
