How does the service work?

Nexus MAT has been commissioned by Rotherham Council to provide after-school and holiday short breaks provision, enabling Rotherham children and young people with special educational needs to access a varied extended services (ES) offer since July 2017.

We believe that children/young people with special needs should have the same opportunities to participate in social and leisure activities as do their peers. We aim to support each child and young person to successfully access activities, venues and trips alongside both SEN and mainstream children.

Who is it for?

Sessions will encourage communication and social interaction, sharing spaces and new experiences, positive choice making and learning new skills. Sessions are designed to be fully inclusive

All sessions are staffed by a Lead Worker and trained support staff and have an up to date DBS check.

How much do sessions cost?
