CEO Briefing November 2016
Well, it finally feels like winter has arrived! As we start to snowball (sorry!) toward the Christmas holidays, all of our schools have jam-packed diaries filled with lots of events which I’m very excited to be attending.
We’ve seen some comings and goings at each of our schools, with both new children, governors and new staff joining our Trust.
I’d like to extend a big welcome to Jill Newbolt, who has been appointed as Assistant Headteacher at Abbey School. Jill is joining us in early 2017 from Aston Academy and brings a wealth of experience with her.
Another significant appointment is that of Janine Blakemore, who is joining us as the new School Business Manager at Hilltop. Janine is coming to work with us from Rotherham MBC and has a lot of experience of financial services and business management.
A warm welcome also to James Gosling who has been appointed as a Kelford governor and to Daniel Buckley who has recently joined us as a governor at Abbey School. It’s wonderful that people are so generous with their time and willing to make such efforts to commit to what is a very demanding voluntary role. Both James and Daniel are really welcome additions to our Trust! In addition to James and Daniel, Carl Haag has also joined the Kelford Governing body as our new teacher governor! Welcome, one and all!
Finally, Luci Windle has recently taken on additional duties to support Pennine View special school in Doncaster. Luci has been appointed as Interim Executive Headteacher over Pennine View alongside her substantive role as Abbey Headteacher, as the school seeks to make rapid improvements following an “inadequate” inspection judgement by Ofsted in June 2016.
Pennine View will require a Multi Academy Trust to sponsor them as part of their exit from special measures, and I have agreed for Nexus to provide support whilst that sponsor is appointed.
See you in 30!
